My goal for robotics is to discover the potentials in my students in designing and making robots that can perform a wide variety of functions specific to tournaments that we join in. The kids in our Transportation, Engineering and Design Academy are so skillful that I got so inspired to let them explore what they can do with the required and restricted materials presented to them. Our school already has a very successful Robotics teams, with Mr. Richard Lipham as their coach. His teams have been competing and winning different tournaments. Inspired by their accomplishments I decided to create another teams to give my students same opportunity to have fun while they develop their skills.
My teams compete in the robotics in SECME (Science, Egineering, Communications, and Math Enhancement Program) and also in USFIRST/ FTC (For the Inspiration and Recogition of Science and Technology/First Technology Challenge). They are able to build robots using the materials thet were provided thru grant by benevolent sponsors like Texas Worforce Commission for the FTC and Exxon Mobil, for SECME.
Other materials that we need are also provided by our dear friends in school and in church.
